Hi there! I don't know if you're aware of this, but there's a typo in the URL of this year's AO3 collection ("exhange" instead of "exchange"). It doesn't matter, of course, but I thought there might be a possibility of it leading to confusion -- like if people were to type the URL instead of following an existing link, for example. Since the round hasn't gotten started yet I wanted to mention it in case you'd like to fix it. But if you already knew then please just ignore me, apologies if that's the case!

Hi! I haven't done this exchange before, so I'm looking for clarification on how the Original Work category works for this exchange. How would we go about verifying how rare a particular OW "ship" is? Do we need to look up, e.g., "Naval Officer/Pirate" and count, or is it presumed that OW prompts won't be about sufficiently common specific characters for this to matter?

For original works we generally don't check, so you should be fine.

I'm having trouble with the disambiguation - I want to nominate Harry Longabaugh | Sundance Kid/Robert Parker | Butch Cassidy (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)) and Harry Longabaugh | Sundance Kid/Robert Parker | Butch Cassidy/Etta Place (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)) but they're both obviously quite too long for the character field! (Aside from the disambiguation, these are the canonical tags that come up in the autocomplete for the ships). Not sure how to make it short enough! TIA :D

Thank you for reaching out! Try shortening the disambiguation to an acronym (like BCatSK) or remove the piping (the thing where they have “|” to separate names) and pick a character name to keep for the ship.

Hello, I'd like to nominate John Conny/Kyle Reese from Terminator Genisys (2015). However, AO3 unfortunately syns that fandom tag to the general Terminator (Movies) one, despite the fact that it has a very separate canon. So I just wanted to ask if it could stay as just Terminator Genisys if I were to nominate it? If not, no worries, but then I'd rather use my nomination slot on something else. Thanks for your time!

Hi, I think the link in the tagset to the collection has a mistake. In the URL it says Exhange instead of Exchange, so clicking the link just redirects to the general AO3 collections page.

If we want to nominate a fandom where multiple versions are categorized as one fandom on AO3, how should we differentiate which version we mean?

In the fandom section of the nominations. For a tagset, you don’t have to use canonicals at all. So, you want to nominate under X, a movie based on a book, and AO3 puts everything into the same category “X - Y.” You can still nominate the movie as “X (Movie)” or as “X (2000)” for this tag set. How a fandom is handled for AO3 doesn’t have to be how a fandom is handled in a given exchange tagset.

I signed up to make videos, is there a preferred site to post videos on when they're done?

Vimeo is one option; you could make an account called "anonymousrarepairvidder" and then move it to your main account after authors are revealed, deleting it from the anonymous account. Doing the same thing on YouTube is also possible.

Videos from either of these platforms can be embedded into a work on AO3, is my understanding.
